July 31st is coming up fast–and that means it is time to celebrate The Boy Who Lived, Mr. Harry Potter himself!

The Terrebonne Parish Library will be commemorating the day with spellbinding Harry Potter programming throughout its nine branch libraries. Muggles and wizards alike are guaranteed to have a good time, so be sure to check the library’s calendar on page 18 so you don’t miss any of these magical events!

Also, don’t forget about the Terrebonne Parish Library’s annual Summer Reading Program. Summer Reading ends on July 27th, but it’s not too late to join in the fun. By reading for just 20 minutes a day, library users of all ages can earn coupons and the chance to win big prizes!

Since 2015, the Harry Potter series is being rereleased in full-color illustrated editions, and they do not disappoint. The newest edition, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, is due out this October. Be sure to start at the beginning with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, though, because Jim Kay, the artist responsible for the iconic original covers, dives back in and offers up page after page of gorgeous art. These new illustrations will allow readers, both new and old alike, a fresh glimpse into Harry’s adventures at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
